Salsa

Salsa ist ein Paartanz, der in den 60er Jahren, auf den Straßen, in der Karibik, seine Entstehung fand. Die Schritte hatten damals keinen bestimmten Sinn, da sie nur zum Spaß dienen sollten. So entstanden die Tänze „Son“ und „Danzon“, die schließlich ihren Weg nach New York fanden. „Fania Records“ war zu der Zeit ein gefragtes Plattenlabel, welches große Begeisterung an dem neuen Tanzstil fand. So formten sie den Begriff „Sauce“ zu „Salsa“ und entwickelten einen neuen Trend. Es entstand eine erste Salsa-Tanzschule in New York, welche die neue Tanzrichtung mit Filmen wie „Dirty Dancing“, weltweit populär und gefragt machten.

Salsa heute

Mittlerweile ist Salsa ein weltweiter Tanztrend, der Menschen jeden Alters und Hintergrunds verbindet. Auch wenn die Wurzeln in der Karibik liegen, hat sich moderner Salsa stark weiterentwickelt und umfasst heute verschiedene Stile wie kubanischen Salsa, Los Angeles Style, New York Style und kolumbianischen Salsa sowie viele mehr. Jeder Stil hat seinen eigenen Rhythmus, seine Technik und seinen Ausdruck, doch alle teilen die Energie, Leidenschaft und Verbindung, die Salsa so mitreißend machen. Moderner Salsa wird sowohl sozial in Clubs und auf Festivals als auch als dynamische Bühnenshow getanzt. Der Fokus liegt auf Musikalität, Improvisation, Partnerverbindung und fließender Bewegung.
